Monocle Radio is seeking a razor-sharp producer to join our busy team working across the station’s award-winning news and global affairs output. The role involves planning, booking and outputting daily weekday news and weekly magazine shows covering everything from business, culture and design to hospitality, media and urbanism. You will be expected to help the senior editorial team set the tone and editorial direction of the full roster of Monocle Radio programmes. The position is based in London but there will be opportunities for travel to report and produce segments and programmes in the field.

The successful applicant will have extensive broadcast experience in a busy, globally-minded newsroom. However, we will consider exceptional candidates from a non-audio background if they can prove their aptitude for the role. The position requires a cool head under pressure, an abundance of great ideas, a list of new contacts across global markets and the facility to handle breaking news and tight deadlines. You must be able to demonstrate that you can rapidly identify the right angles and perspectives to bring to Monocle Radio’s coverage.

While additional languages are an advantage, you must be able to write and edit scripts, sells and promos in flawless English, particularly when working against the clock. Hours are varied and may require early starts, late evenings and weekend work. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic news operation and make your mark across the station’s award-winning programming.

Please send a CV to careers@monocle.com with a covering letter explaining why you are the best candidate for this role. We encourage you to include examples of previous work and relevant experience that clearly support your application.
