Description

André Vieira is a Brazilian photographer who has focussed extensively on the Amazon. For Monocle he has shot stories including firefighters on the streets of Santiago, Chile, and the renowned architecture of Brazil’s capital city, Brasilía. And that’s where he took this picture of a diplomat ascending a staircase at Itamaraty Palace; a modernist marvel designed by Oscar Niemeyer that houses the country’s Foreign Ministry. The image first appeared on the cover of Monocle’s Issue 33.
