If you fail to provide personal data
Where we need to collect personal data by law, or under the terms of a contract we have with you and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the contract we have or are trying to enter into with you (for example, to provide you with goods or services). We may receive your personal data if you are bought one of our products as a gift. In this situation, the data will be provided by the person which has bought the gift. In this context we will collect the gift recipient's name, address, email address, and telephone number. We may also receive transaction data from providers of payment services such as Braintree.

Transfers

Who do we share your personal data with?
We may transfer your personal data to trusted third-party service providers, after we collect this data from you. All of our service providers are required to maintain the confidentiality and security of your personal data and to use it only in compliance with data privacy laws and for specified purposes in compliance with our instructions. Fraud Protection
All our website transactions are passed to a third-party fraud protection company, Signifyd, for review. This integration helps us protect our website from fraudulent payments.
We pass the following information to Signifyd to assist with their fraud protection profiling:

- your billing and delivery addresses
- your order details
- the IP address from which you made the purchase
- the card you used, including the last four digits of the card number and the expiry date
- the PayPal account email address, if used

Online customer support
If you email orders@monocle.com, customerservice@monocle.com or subscriptions@monocle.com, your email address and the contents of your email are passed to a company called Help Scout. Help Scout is software that helps us to manage enquiries effectively.

Email marketing
When you share your email address with us, in order to sign up to our email newsletters, or to opt in or opt out of email marketing in general, we pass your email address to a third-party service provider called Campaign Monitor. Campaign Monitor helps us to manage our email campaigns and subscriptions, and to send timely, accurate, standards-compliant email.
We may send additional data (forenames(s), surname and country) to Campaign Monitor in order to help us segment our newsletters or to better target our emails to you. Accordingly, general marketing emails may be personalised (using your name) and targeted (by location).

In addition to these specific cases, we use other tools and software to help deliver functionality on our website. The companies that provide these services may also process your personal data - even if that is limited to technical data such as IP address or device id. They include:

Your legal rights
You have the right to:
- Request access to your personal data (commonly known as a "data subject access request"). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it.
- Request correction of the personal data that we hold about you.
